Materials and methods

We have conducted a study of the effectiveness of the use of the shampoo SEBOOZOL containing 10 mg of ketoconazole in 1 g in the treatment of multi-colored lichen, seborrheic dermatitis and seborrheic psoriasis.

The study involved 15 patients with seborrheic dermatitis, 13 patients with psoriasis, 2 patients with seborrheic psoriasis who received outpatient and inpatient treatment at the Department of Dermatovenereology with a clinic of St. Petersburg State Medical University. Acad. I.P. Pavlova.

The age of patients ranged from 18 to 53 years. The duration of the disease with seborrheic dermatitis (m - 13, f - 2) ranged from 3 to 10 years, patients with versicolor lichen (m - 4, w - 9) - from 3 months. up to 2 years, seborrheic psoriasis (f - 2) - from 5 to 11 years.

The diagnosis was confirmed on the basis of history and clinical picture of the disease.

Sebozol shampoo was administered externally 1 time per day for 3 days, then it was used every other day for 10 days in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis and seborrheic psoriasis with a 5-7 minute application. In the treatment of multi-colored depriving Sebozol shampoo was used for 7-10 days. The duration of treatment was determined by the clinical manifestations of the disease.

Before the start of treatment and after its termination, a clinical assessment of the patient's condition was carried out, which included an assessment of the severity of symptoms from 0 to 3 according to the DISS:

During the course of therapy, patients did not receive other drugs belonging to the group of antimycotics. Results and discussion

Patients with seborrheic dermatitis

The study completed 14 patients out of 15. The tolerability of the drug was very good in 14 patients, in 1 case the patient independently stopped the treatment due to a burning sensation in the places where the shampoo was used.

Clinical cure (score 0 points according to clinical criteria) occurred in 9 patients with seborrheic dermatitis. In other cases, there was a significant improvement in the course of the disease: in 4 patients, by the 18th day of using the shampoo, only slight erythema and peeling remained. Only in 1 case, in a patient with the most severe course of the disease, the achieved result was positive, but less pronounced.

The rash on the scalp was resolved as quickly as possible. A slower therapeutic effect is noted on the skin of the face. In three cases, with pronounced inflammatory manifestations of seborrheic dermatitis on the skin of the face during the first 4 days of use of the Shampoo Sebozol, an increase in the inflammatory response was recorded, which did not require discontinuation of the drug and resolved during further therapy.

In all cases, the evaluation of the therapeutic efficacy of the drug used by the doctor and the patient was almost completely the same.

Patients with multi-colored lichen

In 9 of 13 patients after 7 days, a complete clinical cure was achieved (only hypopigmented secondary spots remained on the sites of lesions). In 4 patients, a positive effect was noted against the use of the drug, but minor manifestations of the disease remained.

Patients with seborrheic psoriasis

In both cases, significant improvement was achieved during the course of the disease. However, an insufficient number of studies does not allow us to make a final conclusion about the effectiveness of the SEBOLEN shampoo.

Thus, the present study on a limited number of patients confirmed the high efficacy of the Sebozol shampoo when used as an etiopathogenetic therapy in patients with lichen colored, seborrheic dermatitis, and seborrheic psoriasis.

• It has been established that the use of the Sebozol shampoo in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis leads to the complete resolution of lesions in an absolute majority of patients (9 out of 15 cases) while monitoring patients for 18 days. The remaining patients showed a significant improvement in the condition of the skin.
• Shampoo is well tolerated by patients with seborrheic dermatitis, even with prolonged use.
• Side effects caused by shampoo Sebozol at the specified time of observation of patients with seborrheic dermatitis were registered only in one case: the development of allergic dermatitis on the 4th day of using the drug.
